Acting on Browser Errors
No answer, Idle or Busy Errors indicate that the server you are
trying to contact may be too busy or temporarily down because it's offline
or has crashed.
- What to do: Try again after a few minutes. Or log on
when there is less Internet traffic. Avoid prime time hours.
DNS Failed messages tells you the browser cannot contact your domain
name server, or that the server was unaware of the site. DNS is a program
made accessible by your Internet Access provider, that turns the website
address into a numerical address that can be read by a computer.
- What to do: Check that the Domain Name is not mispelled.
Page/File Not Found shows the link no longer exists or URL has changed
or is not valid.
- What to do: Check that the URL is entered correctly.
Check the lower/ upper case of each character. The first part of the URL
(i.e protocol://host.domain) is not case sensitive, but the rest (./path../filename)
often is.
