Users Interact

Electronic communication among users range from e-mail, to newsgroups where users post messages and replies on any topic to the public or special interest groups, to private custom forums. Similarly, users can have their own instant chat rooms instead of joining public chat rooms. While the e-mail still remains most popular in schools, the use of other forms of electronic communication such as private bulletin boards and forums are increasingly being used in distance education.

E-mail

Hot Mail is a browser-based e-mail service that lets you register and log on any computer with an internet connection to check and send your e-mail.

Private Instant Chats

AOL Instant Messenger and ICQ allow users to communicate in small private chat rooms. Their icon sits on the desktop and lets you know when your friends log on and allows you to invite them to an instant, private - individual or group - chat.
