Volunteering with Career Beginnings
Career Beginnings' mentors are college-educated professionals with at least 5 hours a month to spend with a high school student on the college admission process. Mentors are screened, trained and receive on-going support during their involvement with the program. Mentors typically meet with their students twice a month, once at a monthly workshop and once at the mutual convenience of the mentor and student. For more information on the role of the volunteer mentor, see the mentor job description. To apply to become a Career Beginnings mentor, complete the application and mail it to Career Beginnings, 950 Main Street, Suite 314, Hartford, CT 06103.
