Tuition Remission
Full Private Members
Full- time Staff and Faculty at Goodwin College, Hartford Seminary, Rensselaer at Hartford, Saint Joseph College, Trinity College, and University of Hartford are eligible for tuition remission when taking a course at the following campuses, Goodwin College, Hartford Seminary, Rensselaer at Hartford, Saint Joseph College, Trinity College, University of Hartford and Charter Oak State College. The employee may register for one course per semester (Fall and Spring) and one course during Summer term. With the exception of the registration and certain lab or education fees, there is generally no charge for the course, except for courses taken at Charter Oak State College, where 50% of the tuition will be charged to the employee when registering.
There are usually no restrictions as to whether the course is taken for credit or noncredit or whether the course is on the undergraduate or graduate (masters) level.
Associate/Affiliate Members
Full time faculty and staff employed by Consortium Associate or Affiliate member institutions are eligible for a reduced tuition benefit when taking a course at Goodwin College, Hartford Seminary, Rensselaer at Hartford, Saint Joseph College, Trinity College and University of Hartford and Charter Oak State College. Saint Thomas Seminary and Connecticut Public Television are charged a flat rate of $200 each for each course taken by their employees. Charter Oak State College is charged $400 for each course taken for credit and $300 for each course audited by its employees. Employees of Saint Thomas Seminary, Connecticut Public Television registering at Charter Oak are charged 50% of the course cost and registration fee.
Registration Procedure
To register for a course, the employee should click here to download and fill out the Employee Certification form for Tuition Remission. The completed form must be signed by the employee's supervisor. During the opening week of classes, the employee should take the form to the Registrar's office on the campus where the course is being offered. All employee registrations are contingent on space availability and satisfaction of academic requirements.
