Classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) are offered at no charge except for the cost of workbooks. Classes are open to all adult residents of the city of Hartford, Connecticut. Over the years Jubilee House has welcomed students from places as distant as Brazil, Bosnia, Kosovo, Poland, Ukraine, Ecuador, Peru, Columbia, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, China, Haiti, Vietnam, South Korea, Cameroon, Sudan and Sierra Leone. Mary Corbett, the Program Director, plans and directs the program, working with numerous volunteers each day to address the needs of students at various levels of proficiency.
