| A Culture Of Engagement |
| The neighborhood initiative, which is designed to revitalize the Frog Hollow-Barry
Square area as a sustainable "living, learning, and earning" community, has as
its cornerstone the Learning Corridor, a complex of new schools and, equally important, a
comprehensive set of education and support programs serving children (pre-school through
high school) and their parents. Economic development activities, housing rehabilitation,
and related community-building endeavors are key features of the initiative that will
complement and, in a sense, extend out from the educational center. Grassroots participation of the neighborhood and community groups is essential to the success of the neighborhood initiative in general and the Learning Corridor in particular. To ensure the continuation and expansion of genuine involvement, a Community Forum process has been initiated. |
