The Parkville Senior Center has a mission of serving seniors in the community. The center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Membership is open to any City of Hartford resident 55 years of age and older. A nutritious meal is served at noon, 5 days a week. The suggested donation is $1.50.

Educational activities such as jewelry making, quilting sewing, scarf dyeing, investment lectures, banking information, legal assistance, smart shopping computer classes and piano lessons are scheduled weekly.

Health related activities such as dancercise classes, tai chi, nutrition lectures, blood pressure and podiatry services, hearing tests, flu and pneumonia shots are offered. Health Insurance counselors assist members with insurance related concerns.

Recreational activities such as trips, cruises, bingo games, birthday parties, intergenerational activities, book clubs, concerts, dancing, movies and cards are provided.

Social activities such a suppers, monthly meetings, breakfast meetings, preparing mailings for non-profit organizations, hosting interagency meetings and get-togethers, sending out monthly birthday cards and get well greetings are organized.
