Deans of Students and Selected Staff
Deans of Students and selected staff responsible for student services meet with Consortium staff periodically to share best practices and to plan activities regarding college promotion.
This group works on the campus coordination of Fifth Graders Go to College and of ninth-grade visits to campuses.
During 2006 about 1,500 fifth graders from the Hartford schools were invited to spend a day at a college campus. Students took a tour, met with college students, and engaged in a fun and educational activity on one of the participating campuses. The purpose of Fifth Graders Go to College is to encourage students to plan for college early in their school years and to make it a part of their future.
During 2006-2007 it is expected that the Consortium will organize campus visits for 400 ninth- and tenth-grade students from Hartford and Bloomfield. Students will visit college campuses and enjoy an experience that will help motivate them to work hard and to prepare for college
